ABOUT US

Who We Are

The members of L3217 are tasked with protecting the flying public at Ronald Reagan National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport along with supporting our mutual aid partners.

The members of L3217 staff a combined four fire stations encompassing response areas of Alexandria City, Arlington, Loudoun, and Fairfax Counties.

Members currently operate on the three shift system known as the "NOVA" schedule to provide 24/7/365 coverage.

Members are tasked with providing specialized Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), structural fire protection, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), hazardous materials response, and river rescue capabilities to the flying public and our surrounding jurisdictions.
